Hedge scores podium in Detroit

Callum Hedge has claimed his maiden IndyNXT podium on the streets of Detroit.

Hedge qualified his #17 in 6th, after quickly coming to grips with the bumpy circuit across two practice sessions. Callum felt confident heading into Round 6, having been successful on street circuits in Australia, and a 4th in Indianapolis proving he had the pace to run at the front.

Come Sunday, a 45 lap race would see plenty of chaos and cautions throughout. Hedge dropped back to 8th early, however would manage to avoid early incidents, and move forward to 4th.

A great ‘switch-back’ pass on series leader, Jacob Abel would move Hedge into a podium position.

A late safety car locked in Hedge’s first podium, as a hard charging Myles Rowe attempted a pass on the #17. Hedge was re-instated to 3rd, and stood tall on the Detroit podium.
