Heartbreak for hedge at The Bend

Entering The Bend Motorsport Park round of the Paynter Dixon Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship on a high after winning the previous Townsville round, Callum Hedge had his sights set on continuing that success around the South Australian circuit.

The #17 was fast off the blocks, with Hedge topping the opening practice session. Finishing 5th in the second practice, Callum had confidence in the Team Porsche New Zealand Earl Bamber Motorsport Porsche 992 heading into qualifying.

Qualifying on the 2nd row in 4th, Callum moved into 3rd off the line, and followed the top two home for the duration of the race.

Making a fast move into 2nd during Race 2, Callum looked to have the pace to run with leader, Aaron Love. However, mid-race, whilst in 2nd, the #17 snapped a drive shaft, and came to a halt.

Hedge did not finish Race 2, and charged from the back to finish 10th in the final race.

Callum looks to rebound at the next round at Sandown, and is currently placed 10th in the Pro champiomship.
